This book is packed with love, compassion, and a surprise in every chapter. The story seems so real, and you'll fall in love with the characters. Some of the hardships will take your breath away, and make you feel their pain. Kate is in a serious relationship with her one love Matt. They are very much in love...or so she thinks. Yet one day she finds herself alone...Matt nowhere to be found. She was expecting a proposal if anything, not for Matt to be leaving her. She was in a pool of confusion, and it didn't help to find that she was pregnant with Matt's baby. She has no where to turn. Though she talks to her mother about most everything, she is afraid she cannot bring herself tell her this. Then one day, Kate receives a letter from Matt in the mail. The story of a young mother with a strong family history of heart disease (mom died at 40 and grandmother at 45)who had her own first heart attack at 35. She keeps a journal for her infant son because she knows she probably won't live to see him grow into a man. She shares her thoughts, hopes, dreams and even fears with him. She wants him to know who she was, what kind of man his father was as seen through her eyes, what kind of family the 3 of them formed together. All this, because he won't be able to remember his early years. You will go through a box of Kleenex while listening to this one but it is well worth it. Men, women, wives, husbands, mothers, fathers, sons and daughters should read it and learn the valuable lessons of love and family ties that we need to share with our dear ones. Then share it with someone you love!
