Average Rating: Rating: - Enthralling suspense from start to finish (k.m.-3) This book was so great I am going to read it again. I couldn't put it down. In the beginng when they caught Patrick I thought it was going to be all about his trial. Instaed it was about how Paterick used his laywer expertise to work his way out of even spending one night in jail. Sandy McDermott was one of my favorite chahracters because he worked so hard and put his life on hold to help Patrick. Also I really liked Eva Miranda thruogh her love and commitment to Patrick has taught me that no guy is worth risking my life. One of my least favorite character was Trudy Lanigan because she is just too sleazy and not commited to her husband, I blame her for Patrick's rebellion. Jack Stephano is not one of my favorites either, but he is a good part of the story that makes it so interesting. During Patrick's torture, I wanted to run in and save him. Reading this novel has taught me that as long as you get an education and become good at what you do, then no one can walk all over you. Rating: - John Grisham recaptures the stamina we love so much John Grisham has recaptured the old magic that we love so much in his book The Partner. We instantly fall in love with his character Patrick and cannot help but be completely enthralled in his story until the last page. Many critics have argued against the twist at the end of the novel, but this only adds a nice little sense of bittersweetness to the title. It actually makes you think what Grisham actually had in mind when he titled this book. The Partner is the story of a man who had it all, and gave it up for 900 million dollars. At least this is what we were lead to believe in the beginning. Soon we discover all the extraneous circumstances that lead Patrick to take part in the most notorious crime the Southern states have ever seen. Patrick has only a matter of a few weeks to prove his innocence, and to keep the love of his friend, Eva. Will Patrick do it? Can he be kept away from jail and still manage to keep the money? Read the book and you'll find out! Rating: - A Cleverly Brilliant Novel full of Humor and Suspense!!! The Partner is a must read. As a 13 year old boy, I enjoyed it emensely. Each character had its own indepth personality. I found The Partner to be one of Grisham's most brilliant piece of work. I think each reader will be able to identify with Grisham's fictional characters. You will have to remind yourself that this is a work of fiction. The Partner is an extremely convincing book. You will actually take sympathy for the selfish Patrick Lanigan. John Grisham once again has you ask yourself, "Who really is the Bad Guy?" On a personal note, I was captivated by John Grisham's unique writing skills all throughout the entire book. Whether it is on the beach or in your home, John Grisham's The Partner should be on the top of your reading list
