Average Rating: Rating: - LIVING IN THE MOMENT! This book makes an excellent companion to "The Power of Now." The exercises found among these pages causes one to do some deep soul searching to determine what is important in life and what is truly insignificant. Even if you have not read Eckhart Tolle's "The Power of Now", which I strongly recommend readers do, this thought-provoking workbook can be used as a stand-alone book. Tolle has a way of giving meaning to life by using exercises, meditations and essential teachings (many based on Buddhist philosophies) to bring peace, balance and harmony into our lives. The goal is to be able to bring about and sustain an enlightened state of consciousness in our daily lives. Tolle has a way of making the reader do some deep soul searching and reveal many truths about themselves that they might not otherwise do. In essence, the book causes one to "lighten the load" and follow a path of peace and harmony. This is truly a spiritual journey to a more enriched and meaningful life. The book is highly recommended and highly deserving of a five-star plus rating. Rating: - NOW is WOW! Such a simple message, yet so profound and full of wisdom! I did not read Eckhart Tolle's first book on this subject because at the time of purchase, I preferred the Reader's Digest version of his message. I got it! It's written in a way that makes sense and is very satisfying. This is what I learned: When faced with the illusion of a problem, you have the ability to chase that problem away by living in the Now. In other words, if you mentally take an issue out of the "problem" category, you will in essence take the problem's power away -- it is no longer a problem. This way of thinking, thinking in the NOW, has eleviated stress in my life. I can now look at my life with appreciation, moment by moment. It takes practice. When you do this, you are making a choice to seek positive solutions rather than hone in on that which is negative or out of your control. In reading this little book of wisdom, I've found that the secret of life is your perception. Living in the Now, truly living in the now, is uplifting, satisfying, and the most powerful place to be. Rating: - Deep and meaningful Eckhard Tolle's companion book is spiritually focused and keeps us in the now. This is important for those who are afraid to be with themselves. Although his teachings are not new, his writing touches the heart and are profound. For those of you who wish to OPTIMIZE the now (rather than improve, manage or be with it), I recommend Dr. Rosalene Glickman's "Optimal Thinking: How to Be Your Best Self." She shows you how to embrace all reality as an expression of our humanity, and optimize the suboptimal. She has a roadmap for optimizing disturbing emotions which is truly unique and totally fulfilling. Keep both books on hand.
