Average Rating: Rating: - Two Years And Counting!: A Weigh Down Testimony ...I was a person who tried many different diets and diet products and exercise programs...I heard about the "Weigh Down Diet" from friends. I dismissed it as yet another diet fad. Then about a year later I met up with a friend I hadn't seen in awhile. She had lost a lot of weight. In very casual conversation, she told me about the Weigh Down Diet and how it affected her life. This is someone I highly respect and look up to. Soon, I ordered a copy of "The Weigh Down Diet" for myself... I began putting the ideas of WD into practice the very evening I received the book. And I have never gone back! I am happy to report I lost all the extra weight and have been maintaining my weight now for over TWO YEARS! This is the first time I can ever say I have done this. Not only that, contrary to what many people might believe, I am extremely healthy. In fact, I'm rarely sick. And since reading the book, I've been learning to seek God more and more for help in other areas of my life. Even now, when I am tempted to eat when I am not truly hungry, I call on Him to help me and He's not failed me yet! As a result, I have a healthier body (one I'm also happier with) and an even closer walk with Him. What could be better? :-) Rating: - Weigh Down Really Works I not only read this book but volunteered to be the coordinator for the Weigh Down Workshop at my church. We ended our 12-week sessions the last of June, and of the several people who were keeping track of their weight loss, a total of 170 lbs. was shed in just 12 weeks. One man lost 33 lbs. and lowered his cholestrol from 280 to 149. I have been amazed at how little food the body really needs to run on. I am still eating my pizza, chocolate along with a variety of foods that keep me healthy. I have not been deprived of the food I enjoy and my relationship to God has improved a hundred fold. Weigh Down is a true blessing in a world that has focused on "self" for too long. As a song that Gwen sings on one of the video tapes says, "Save Your Heart for Him." God can and will change your life and your desire to only eat what your body needs, and you will lose your weight as a side benefit. So far I have lost 14 lbs. and am back in a size 8 once ! ! again. Hooray! Rating: - The Truth Will Set You Free I am a "thinking person", an intellectual that spent so much time complicating things with all of my thinking, that by the time I realized I could not, in my own power, find self discipline, I was more than a hundred pounds overweight. Over the last 11 months I have lost 80 pounds by following the simple truths found in Gwens Book "The Weigh Down Diet". It teaches you to find self discipline not in the power of your own thinking but in the power of Jesus. There is no attempt to "sell" you anything in this book. Gwen makes no bones about the fact that it is through the power of God we find the strength and the will to see us through the process of permanent weight loss. If you are looking for an easy way to permanent weight loss then don't bother with this book. However, if you are looking for a simple, uncomplicated approach that will bring freedom to your life, then I highly recommend "The Weigh Down Diet".
