Average Rating: 3.80 out of 5 stars

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - It worked for me (mostly)
Here's one crossover album by opera stars that works--at last 75% of it, which isn't bad. Surprisingly, Welsh bass-baritone Terfel is often better than the American-born Fleming, especially "Pretty Women" and "Sometimes a Day Goes By" (although his attempt at a number from The Music Man was a mistake). Fleming does beautifully by "Moonfall" (from Edwin Drood) and especially "All the Wasted Time" (from Parade), but surprisingly comes up empty with "Hello, Young Lovers." Her duets with Terfel that are the best things on the CD. "Not While I'm Around" (from Sweeney Todd) is breathtaking, as is "Wheels of a Dream" (from Ragtime), "How Would I Know" (from The Secret Garden), and "All I Ask of You" (from Phantom of the Opera.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Under The Stars
These are two of the most beautiful voices ever and make the crossover from opera better than anyone. Hearing them on this CD hade my heart soar. I hope they do somemore very soon.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - 2 Beautiful Voices
I must admit that i perfer opera over broadway any day but after listening to this CD, it makes me want to go out and learn more about Broadway. Fleming and Terfel are opera singers with BIGGG voices therefore, it is expected that they will not sound like how a broaway or pop singer would sound. Terfel has perfect diction, you can actually tell what he's saying, Fleming's diction is good when she stays within the scales. Both are in their prime, with beautiful voices, especially Fleming (who I was really worry that she might damage her voice after recording "Bel Canto"). As always, Fleming has total control over her voice, rich and full of expression in the middle register, and radiant at the top. BUT she does over dramatizes some phrasing (what else is new) but all in all, just wonderful. Terfel on the other hand was perfectly at home, and sounded gloriously.

This Cd really shows that these two stars are not afraid to branch off and reach new heights!
