Average Rating:
Rating: - A Grand Zelda Adventure
Fear not, Zelda loyalists, this new GBC adventure, even though developed by Capcom, lives up to the Zelda name in every way possible. Even surpassing Link's Awakening in the gameplay department, this game is a treat for Zelda purists and newcomers alike. There is great variety in Link's adventure this time around - you'll find yourself doing everything from riding mine carts to hopping, swimming, and flying around with your newfound animal buds. These animals are a great additon to the game: You'll meet all three on your quest, but you get one to "keep" as your pet. The main item here is the mystical rod of seasons. Adding great depth to the game, you'll gain the power to change the weather and landscape at will with the help of a nearby tree stump. The other items, found in dungeons and other places, are definetly the most amazing and innovative items seen yet in a Zelda game, including it's parter pak, Oracle of Ages. I won't list any of them here, but later in the game you yourself will be astounded. If the new 3D incarnations of the series are too easy for you, be prepared to meet your match. The action in this game is great, sometimes overwhelming, as the many enemies and huge, tough, bosses will certainly leave you gasping for a breather. Don't delay, even if those flashy Game Boy Advance games have caught your eye. You won't be seeing anything this good on a handheld system in a long time. And, even though its marketing scheme, don't pass up on Ages either. The two games Link together once you've completed one of them, adding more items, dungeons, and bosses into the mix. Get one, and if you're thirsting for an especially big adventure, get both. You won't regret it, and besides, its ZELDA. Do I really need to tell you this?
Rating: - Great Portable Zelda Action
Although I have not finished this game yet, I feel that have played enough to give a very accurate review. First off, you would be hard-pressed to find a better game for the Gameboy Color. Everything about this game is a amazing, right down to the series of blips and bleeps that pass for music on the Gameboy. If you've played Link's Awakening DX, you know how the controls in this game are: amazing. The only problem is that you cant face any diretions other than north, south, east and west, but it never hurts you during the game. The colors are very real looking, Capcom didn't try to do too much with the GBC's meager palette. Although the story is nothing special (your standard evil guy takes destroys something and kidnaps someone to take over the world), it feels very good for this type of a game. The bosses aren't too difficult, but some of you may need to use a strategy guide or FAQ. Any problems with this game are minimal, and should not be too much of an issue with anyone. Nintendo and Capcom scored a hit with The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons.
Rating: - great game!!! BUY IT
This game is a lot cooler than :THE LEGEND OF ZELDA LINK'S AWAKENING. You have the same items than in the older game, maybe even a couple more: sword, boomerang, shield, seed shooter, power barcelet, flippers, roc's feather, etc... What's cool about this game is that you can change the seasons to cross rivers or other obstacles. You could change the season to winter so the lake could freeze and you could go to the other side and do whatever. If you beat this game you get a password. With this password you can imput it in the other game : THE LEGEND OF ZELDA ORACLE OF AGES. If you do that and play the game normally, the people that you saw in the first game will recognize you and it will be like one whole story. There are a lot more bonuses you can get with passwords. Like put a password and be able to get a level 3 sword and level 3 shield. ALL I CAN SAY IS THAT YOUR MISSING ALOT IF YOU DON'T GET IT.
