Average Rating: Rating: - Awesome! Ghost Recon is a phenomenal game and is now my favorite game of all time. It is a first person shooter perspective, but you control five other teammates. Your squad is broken down into two three man teams. At the beginning of a mission you decide if you want riflemen, support (heavy machine gun), demolitions, or snipers on your squad. Once in the game you direct the men where to go. If the soldier you are controlling is in Alpha, they will follow your lead all the time. The Bravo soldiers will go on their own and do what you directed them to. You can split up the squad, or keep all six together. If you need a different perspective you can take over control of any of the six soldiers. So this is a thinking man's shooter, and the balance between strategy and intense firefight action is perfect. I love the urban warfare scenarios where you fight in alleys and go room to room clearing a building. Very intense, and much harder than outdoor warfare. Expect lots of casualties. The graphics are really good, and the game has great replay value. Rating: - ghost recon Ghost Recon is probably the best xbox game I have ever played. Well, I really can't tell you much about the single player of the game because all I've played is the online multiplayer, and let me tell you, it is extremely fun. This game is not an average shoot em up game, it requires skill. You will almost always die in one or two shots so people don't go around spraying bullets, people lurk around hiding in corners. In fact, a lot of the time you die you don't even know where person who killed you was. And when your on a team talking to people with the headset, not a keyboard, planning out how you're going to take down the enemies it is so fun. Definitely a must have game if you have xbox live, and if you don't have xbox live get it. Rating: - Highly Recommended. Ghost Recon is a welcome break from death match, you-must-be-on-speed-to-keep-up type games. Instead of pulling a trigger and running around until you kill someone, this game forces you to develop detailed strategies to accomplish your tasks. The action you do encounter (and there is plenty) is intensified by the fact the stakes are much higher -- a couple of bullets or a well-placed grenade takes you out of the game. This forces you to develop a properly planned and well executed course of action. The game is squad based. During single player mode, you play one of six soldiers and can switch between them at any time. Your player leads one squad of three, and you set a course of action for the other squad which is controlled by AI. As you complete missions and tasks, you unlock addition items such as new soldiers to choose from. Surviving missions also increases soldier skill. Ghost Recon has significant replay value. It has 15 levels and 50 different tasks to complete, but because there are so many strategies that can be used to complete a level, they can be played numerous times with the same enjoyment level. Of course, on-line play adds tremendous replay and excitement. In my opinion, the mark of a good game is how quickly time slips by while you are playing. Time after time I have intended to wrap up in 10 minutes only to find that an hour has passed. This is a fantastic game. I do have a few complaints. The graphics are generally good, but can be on the choppy side at times. I have also experienced instances where the AI squad didn't do what I had mapped out. But, for the most part, the game is a welcome addition to my game library.
