Average Rating:
Rating: - N64 beats Playstations
Yes, the Sony has more games, the majority of them cheaper thanN64, but what the N64 has is better quality of gameplay. It is worthpaying the extra money for a game as you will get much more value out of them. Games such as Goldeneye are still among the most popular games on any system despite being quite old and it soon has its sequel Perfect Dark to be released. As well as new releases such as Jet Force Gemini, Donkey Kong 64 and WWF Wrestlemania 2000 - all groundbreaking games, there are many old games which still wow gameplayers and I still play despite having them for a while now - their replay value is so good - these include Lylat Wars, 1080 Snowboarding, Waverace 64 and F1 World Grand Prix - the best F1 game. N64 still has a great future with Zelda 2, Pokemon games, Perfect Dark, Resident Evil Zero, Conker's Tales and many more still to come.
Rating: - Nintendo Still the Leader?
Is Nintendo losing ground? With the release of the Playstation2 Nintendo may be sinking. Or are they? What happens when a new console game hits the market? Can't find one. Only alternative? Buy a system already on the shelf. Which one is best? Nintendo64. Has more games available then PS2 and plenty of consoles are available. Though the N64 doesn't have as many titles as PS1, the quality on many of them is better. Nothing on PS or Dreamcast out-does Mario or Zelda. These tiles are the hottest sellers on all Nintendo systems. Can Playstation say that? Sony only has 2 systems. Nintendo has 4. With ever increasing quality titles every week. Which is the better buy? Sony again gets the headstart with the PS2, but with Nintendo GameCube and Xbox hitting the market during the 3rd and 4th quarters of next year, Sony better have at least 30 or more titles on the shelf That are of very high quality. Ridge Racer is played out and Crash Bandicot has nothing on Mario or Zelda. How will PS2 stand up to the release of these more powerful systems? Will Microsoft's first attempt at the console market be as good as Sony's first attempt? Will the PS2 be strong enough to stand up to the bashing these 2 new systems will bring next year? The clock is ticking as countdown begins! But it's not over yet. Nintendo still leads in the handheld gaming market. Finally listening to the long demands of a handheld with a color screen, Nintendo finally answers with Gameboy Color. Available in a rainbow of color with matching color accessories, made Gameboy color the hot product of Y2k. With the up and coming first 32bit handheld system, Gameboy Advance will keep the big "N" king of the handheld markket. With the ability to play over 500 of the original Gameboy titles plus the present and up and coming Gameboy Color titles, Gameboy Advance is going to be a hefty console to beat. With Sega mostly likely leaving the console market, after the creation of another ill-fated system and Microsoft filling the gap, high-tech console gaming will take us into another fulfilling decade of fierce competition and gaming.
Rating: - That depends
A few years ago (back in '97, to be exact), I was a major Nintendo fan. You know, the kind that despise Playstation in any and all forms. Well, I get the system the day it comes out. Okay, I played it for a couple years, remaining uninformed about the Playstation. Then comes 2000. I start hearing about the PSX. How the CDs hold more space. How they have better sound. Well, I just get a Playstation. Now, many of you N64 fanatics may not want to see the bad sides of the Nintendo system. But they're there! First of all, cost. I'm 13, so I don't really have a steady supply of money (besides allowance). The cost of games was really a big issue for me. .... Also, despite what they may tell you, Playstation actually has better processing power. The only reason that N64 has better graphics is because of more RAM. One more thing: add-ons. The N64 has tons of add-ons that I never want to buy. Memory card? Most of the time one game takes up all of the space! Rumble pack? I hate 'em. .... Expansion pack...well if Sony released one of these things I probably wouldn't buy it. There you go. You're now informed. Make a good descision!
