Rating: - Awesome, but All-Stars+World is better...
This game is great. The graphics have been updated with the technology that couldn't have been possible in the 80's and very early 90's. The sound is less arcade-like in this version. And there is finally a save option. Here are my ratings for the four games included: Super Mario Bros: Ahhh... the memories...WHOOPS! Back to the review! Very updated. Sounds and looks a lot better than the original. Needs a save feature in every level, not every world. (9/10) Super Mario Bros 2: The graphics could've been a lot better, but sounds better. The save feature is even worse than the last one. Still good, though. (8/10) Super Mario Bros 3: An excellent game that has gotten even more excellent through this game. I have no problems with this game. (10/10) Super Mario Bros/The Lost Levels: Also known as Super Mario Bros 2 in Japan in 1986. The absolute worst in the collection. It's the same game as the first just 5 times harder. It's impossible to get past world 2-2, plus the memory has been completely wasted on this game. (6/10) Overall:8/10 This is good, but Super mario All-Stars+Super Mario World is better. this junk is only worth SMB3.
Rating: - A great classic combination-THE BEST OF MARIO!
This awesome game pak includes all 3 Marios (and a bonus, "Lost Levels".) remade in a more better version for the SNES. For one thing, the sound isn't choppy and DOES NOT skip compared to that of the original. Also, the cel images have been improved as well, giving the chracters a realistic cartoonish look. (especially w/ "Super Mario World", which would come later.)The following games are: SUPER MARIO BROS./LOST LEVELS **** (4-stars) (YEAR OF RELEASE: 1985) This is the one that started it all! You play as either Mario or Luigi or 2-player mode! I'd have to say that it's the hardest and I do mean THE hardest of all Marios I've played! The objective is to reach the goal at the end of the stage before time runs out. (the enemies and other obstacles added in are an excellent challenge!) Finally, at the end of each world, you must defeat the big guy himself, KING KOOPA!!! SUPER MARIO BROS. 2 ***(3-stars) (YEAR OF RELEASE: 1988) Mario has a dream... A dream about a mysterious parallel world in danger from the evil toad, Wart. Wart has kidnapped all the guardians(a.k.a. "subcons") of that dimension obviously in hopes of ruling both the dream and real worlds. Now, Mario and friends must travel to this magical land, defeat Wart, and save them. This one is a VERY good Mario game, but not as good as the original! You have the freedom to actually pick stuff up, solve puzzles, and there is NO time limit!(which is nice for a change.) SUPER MARIO BROS. 3 ****(4-stars) (YEAR OF RELEASE: 1990) OH YEAH! This is where the series started coming together with all the bosses, powerups, and fun mini-games. (which was probably the starting point for the upcoming Mario 4 on SNES.) I'd have to say that this one is my 2nd favorite next to SMW!!! I like the cool new abilities such as the racoons tail which allows you to fly. The hardest for me was Pipe world! SUPER MARIO BROS. 4/SUPER MARIO WORLD *****(5-stars) (YEAR OF RELEASE: 1992) I love this one the BEST!!! You play as either Mario and Luigi with the help of an all-new companion; YOSHI, the dinosaur! The plot is where Bowser has kidnapped Princess Peach(AGAIN!) and you must save her! There are MORE than 8-worlds, including a SPECIAL WORLD!!!(For more of the advanced players looking for a good challenge.) YOU CAN ALSO DO MORE THAN BEFORE UNLIKE MARIO 3!!! OVERALL: I give the entire series 10/10. BUY IT!!! You WON'T be disapointed! A treat for all Mario fans!! ^_^ p.s. I also reccomend "Super Mario 64" & "Sunshine"!
Rating: - 4 GAMES OF MARIO!!!!
This game is the best game in my Nes series next to Donkey Kong(1994).You can play Super Mario Bros.(#1),Super Mario Bros.2,Super Mario Bros.3,and The Lost Levels(#4).This game is better than the Nintendo editions since they have better graphics and you can save games!
