Rating: - Great Movie...Great Video Game
Battle the forces of Mordor in the game based on the blockbuster The Lord of the Rings movies. Continue your journey through the epic story of Middle-earth by fighting and battling your way against Orcs and other creatures in fully 3D interactive environments. As Aragorn, Legolas, Frodo and Gandalf, you'll be encouraged to balance and utilize each character's unique moves, skills, and weaponry in order to complete your quest. Battle a variety of Orcs and square off against vicious boss monsters including the Cave Troll and Saruman. Set in 13 mission locations, each environment will have a close visual correlation to that seen in the first two films.*Play as the three action heroes from the movies, Aragorn the Ranger, Legolas the Elf and Gimli the dwarf, each with unique fighting styles and upgradeable combat moves *Face the evil forces of Sauron in third-person action/adventure gameplay emphasizing tactical sword fighting using blocks, parries, thrusts and special moves *Fight through 13 levels of fully rendered 3D environments consisting of memorable movie moments from the first two films, including the Mines of Moria and the walls of Helm's Deep *Battle boss monsters from the first two movies, including the Cave Troll and Saruman, plus numerous other enemies such as the menacing Uruk-Hai, spider-like Moria orcs and others *Includes music from the Academy Award-winning score from The Fellowship of the Ring, including music not available on the soundtrack CD or even used in the film *Includes footage from both The Fellowship of the Ring and The Two Towers films *Exclusive interviews with the stars of the film discussing their voice-over work and what it's like to see their likenesses in the game Now, i cannot speak for all the other systems but the XBOX version has great graphics and sound......this is a must buy....... even if you do not even like the movie( and who does not, right???) you will love this game..............
Rating: - EA did a great job.
The instant the game comes on, you get absorbed into the story/game. There is a complaint that the game follows exactly like the movie...thats beause its based on the movies. There are cut scenes from both "Fellowship" and "Two Towers", hence the absorbtion quality. The movies themselves were done very well, hence, so is the game. The game is veritably short...on easy. Multiple character play and difficulty makes for good replay value. Game play itself is ok...takes a bit to get used to the controls (i.e. its easist to use the R T-stick for special moves but still need to use X or B button to pull off linked moves and such). As it is now the only problems I have with the game is this (1.) There is no way to delete saved games...unless im an idiot (2.) When you finish a level, you have a chance to purchase special moves...when you exit that screen, there is no going back until you finish the next level. Thats more of an annoyance than anything, and (3.) No multiplayer. In a nutshell, LOTR or not, this is a great slashing, hacking, stabbing, throat cutting game. If its not bought, its definitly worth the rent. For myself...its a keeper.
Rating: - EA has done it again!!
First of all I would like to say that I very much enjoyed the medal of honor series by EA and think that they have worked their magic once more with this game. I was alittle skeptical to play this game after being teribly disappointed with The Lord of The Rings The Fellowship of the ring. Dont let this discourage you! First you can play through major action senes from the first two movies and play as the three main action heroes from the first two films: Aragorn the Human, Legolas the Elf (my personal favorite), and gimli the Dwarf I think that this game is terific in these respects 1)Graphics are terific! I didnt know that I was playing until Gimli started yelling at me to watch out!!!! 2)Controles are easy to master except that the camera can get kinda hary, at times you are trying to shoot at enimies that are off the screen. 3) gameplay is well done in that the storyline is the same as the movies except this game is begging for a multiplayer mode (hint to game developers) that they will hopefully put in their next game The Return of The King.Review: Graphics: 5/5 controles: 4.5/5 gameplay:4.5/5 overall 4.5/5 (Coulden't put 4.5stars on my review so i just gave it a 5). A must buy for any XBOX, PS2, or NTG owner!!!
