Average Rating: Rating: - slightly weak - they saved $$ on the amount of glass....they could have poured a very slight amount of glass in the original and would have been a much better product....almost feels like planned obsolescence Rating: - Great coffeemaker, poor quality carafe I purchased this carafe to replace one that I had broken. After only a few uses, it cracked while my husband was washing it. He was only using a sponge and soap and hot water. If I didn't like the coffeemaker so much, I definitely would not buy it simply because of this poor quality carafe. Rating: - A fine carafe The fact is....these glass carafes don't break all by themselves. They need a little help from people like you and me. The KFK12-FL must be tough even though the glass apears to be thin. I had my old one for three years before I finally smacked it on the side of my sink rendering it a little seive-like. Let me tell you, three years is a record for me. I was pleased to find the replacement carafe on Amazon.com for cheaper than anywhere else and ordered two of them.
