Rating:  - Response to Rough Bottoms....
Take a small piece of sand paper and gently sand the bottom of each bowl. This will eliminate the roughness.
Rating:  - VERY NICE BUT ROUGH BOTTOMS...CAN SCRATCH TABLES
These pasta bowls are great in all regards but one: the rough underside/bottom of the bowls are rough as hell and can scratch a table. I expected Phaltzgraff to have smooth bottom plates.
Aside from that, they are heavy and durable and a great size(!)
I would have given 5 STARS if it weren't for the rough bottoms.
