Average Rating: Rating: - A MUST for someone that is interested in Interior Decorating I was on this kick for about 4 years now on Fabrics and Colors for a Bed and Breakfast (I want to open one) and I subscribed to "Victoria" and "Country Living" for that Country feel.... well I subscribed to "House and Garden" for every thing else. I LOVE this Magazine. The pictures are gourgeous, the ideas are innovative and you can tell that the editors and writers take their job seriously because this Magazine is done with such Pizazz. It's not as costly at "Architectural Digest" but I rate it right up there with it. Minus the celebrity portions in each edition. In the mass of the many subscriptions I was getting (a whopping 16!!!) I still get this one and Glad of it. Happy Reading Rating: - Beautiful, inspiring I've subscribed to House and Garden in all of its incarnations since the mid 1980s when I was in law school, pulling together fabric and paint for my desolate study area. The current version of H&G is under the very capable leadership of Dominique Browning, who also writes beautiful, thoughtful editorials every month about anything - from her home's cracked retaining walls to cooking with her sister. I beeline for her writing first, then I disappear into the pages of stunningly gorgeous interior designs and architecture. The annual "color" issue is always good. Sometimes an issue is devoted to an entire city and all its charms regarding interiors, antiques, architecture, public gardens, private unique homes and "must -sees". The issues about Chicago and about Paris France were particularly well done, even though I may not visit either anytime soon. There's a nice dusting of garden stories throughout the year that are informative and helpful without being too much. Every time I decide to let the subscription go for any number of reasons that have nothing to do with H&G, I always...somehow... come back.
