Average Rating: Rating: - Still the Best I've been reading Motor Trend since I was a kid and, more than 30 years later, it's still the best. Road & Track has gotten better, especially in the graphic design department, but they haven't caught up to Motor Trend overall. Car & Driver is rude, crude, and isn't in the same league. Rating: - A reader for over 30 years and still satisfied! As a fifteen-year-old in 1968, Motor Trend was the first magazine that I subscribed to. It provided an automobile lover with the latest info on the new models, future trends, as well as designers and other automotive craftsmen. The years have not lessened its coverage for it is still the premier car magazine in the country. Others may have issues with the much-heralded "Car of the Year" and the praise heaped on foreign nameplates but I, for one, believe in the merits of the publication and intend on continuing as a satisfied reader for another three decades. Rating: - Mixed Feelings, Lingering Frustration I am relaying my father's views here. He worked in the automobile industry, for one of the Big Three, for 25 years, is a lifelong car enthusiast, and has read this magazine for years. He keeps reading because the magazine is informative, and because he hopes they'll eventually wake up. He repeatedly expresses frustration that any car with a foreign brand name on it automatically gets smiled upon by the magazine, and any American car automatically puts them into fault-finding mode. I think he's close to giving up on the magazine and, from my occasional browsing of it, I don't blame him.
