Average Rating: Rating: - Poor reviews Rarely mentions even obvious flaws of software or hardware. Reviews are superficial. CPU reviews use a different measurement standard every time making comparisons difficult. Test result graphics are always confusing. Mindlessly preaches the Apple party line. Most of the magazine reads like manufacturers' press releases. Rating: - MacWorld is no longer what it was I am a very old subscriber to MacWorld. I was with them practically since they started as a magazine. And I am a long time Mac user. They used to be a great magazine. However, they changed their format a little more than a year ago--and now the magazine is no good. I value substance over style. Unfortunately, they lost their substance. They increased their font size and decreased the size of their reviews. Their reviews used to provide many valuable details and insights. Now, their reviews provide little more than what you can read from the software's box cover. Since they bought out their biggest competition, MacUser, they are no longer motivated to provide quality. I really wish they go back to providing more substance--they used to be such a great magazine :(. Rating: - The most professional Mac magazine out there. There is no alternative. Macworld gives you actual information, benchmarks and unbiased reviews on products available for the Mac (no beta products or rumors though. That's what the Internet is for). It is also full of great Web, video and graphics tips and info for BOTH pros and hobbyists. It is rewarding to the very end, where you will find Andy Ihnatko's monthly opinion column. He has a wonderful plan for your life!
