Average Rating:
Rating: - The best of the current Muscle Mags
With so many "resources" out there these days for building muscle, losing fat, and getting in the best shape of your life, it's tough to match the gym mindset to a single magazine. Men's Fitness has won me over with its simpler approach, and realistic outlook on physique building. Easy-to-follow workout plans, valuable product recommendations and common sense diet and nutrition advice has made Men's Fitness my magazine of choice. You won't find inflated, juiced up bodybuilders in these pages (thankfully), nor will you be overloaded with sexual advice and sales pitch after pitch (like that other Men's _____). Instead, you'll pick up valuable advice on broadening shoulders, improving your focus, and getting good clean foods incorporated into your lifestyle. Each month I pick up a couple of valuable tips out of this magazine, and usually wind up tweaking my workout slightly based on a tip the editors have provided. That makes my investment in Men's Fitness more than worthwhile. If you are serious about weight training, and looking for a magazine devoted to that purpose, Men's Fitness is the best of the bunch
Rating: - FOUR YEARS AND STILL TRYING
Eventually, I will look like the guys on the cover if I continue to follow the great advice contained within the mags's well-stocked pages. If not, I'll just die trying. This is one great publication for the beginner, as well as the established athlete.
Rating: - Has Easily Surpassed Men's Health in Quality
A funny thing happened with the editorial changes at rival "Men's Health" a few years ago. The magazine became pompous, pretentious, and less and less about men's health. But while that magazine became focused more and more on itself and less and less on its readers, "Men's Fitness" evidently was picking up on what was going wrong at the rival magazine, and making the changes in its pages. Now "Men's Fitness" reads like "Men's Health" did in its glory days when it was trying ti be "Men's Health," not "Maxim." Men's Fitness features easy to read, well-illustrated articles aimed at the athletic man. It's become THE magazine for the active man, who may be looking for information that clearly explains the scientific principles of diet and exercise and how he can make them part of his daily life. Articles are fun, breezy, and easy to understand. You get the impression this magazine is aimed at its readers, which, sadly, the once-great "Men's Health" used to be. So, bottom line, if you're looking for the type of magazine "Men's Health" used to be, and you're intimidated by "Muscle & Fitness," you've found the answer with this Weider publication.
