What makes this smoker unique is its ability to draw a draft and keep the temperature stable over a long period of time. It's virtually "fire and forget" for the seasoned bbq'er. I would recommend this unit to anyone who wants to produce world-class smoked meats.

I purchased one about 3 years ago. I think it is a great value. It arrives standard with a very heavy duty cover which will last for the life of the smoker.

The only disappointment is that it doesn't include a thermometer which is an absolute necessity for smoking. I obtained a Trend 3 1/2 " dial thermometer from an online source, and mounted it on the lid. This required cutting a hole in the lid. With this slight modification my smoker was ready for use..the cost of the thermometer was about $35 but it is an excellent, heavy duty thermometer that I highly recommend.

At any rate I absolutely love my smoker, and Weber has excellent support for maintenance parts. I recently replaced all three grates for only $30 shipping included (I'm sure they would have lasted longer but I didn't give them the proper maintenance).

I've cooked some great ribs on this smoker....my family, friends and neighbors have went crazy over them. I smoke mine using a rub called BRITU (Best Ribs in the Universe)..., with the slight modification of using pecan wood. They come out fantastic..and I've also smoked turkey and done some pulled pork that came out great too...

I have had one of these units now for some time and just ordered another. I plan on getting two more for competetion. Most serious q'ers will want to mount a termometer on the lid, and possibly replace the stock waterpan with a larger one if you plan on cooking overnight. Have done brisket, butts, ribs and tri-tip and all came out great with little fuss. We own a large
mobile cooker for large parties but for small Qing this thing works great.
