Average Rating: Rating: - Much better than the NB-1L I purchased a Canon S230 Digital Elph which came with the Canon NB-1LH battery. When I purchased an additional battery I was given the NB-1L. It discharged so quickly in my camera that I thought I had not correctly charged it. The NB-1LH however continues to perform for several days and many, many photos worth of usage. There is just no comparison. Yes the NB-1L is less expensive, but the NB-1LH is really worth the additional cost. Rating: - Very good. This battery has much better reserve (amperage) than the original S100/110 battery had. In addition, the new cameras (S200 and above) manage their power consumption more efficiently, so it is entirely possible to shoot an entire evening with just one battery. Rating: - Never miss a photo opportunity with a 2nd battery pack! One flaw in the Powershot/Elph's design is the absence of a battery meter (like Sony's where you see % juice left). Once the red low batt symbol flashes, you can't squeeze in more than 6 or 7 shots before your camera turns into a shiny paperweight. And Canon's proprietary battery isn't one that you could find in a 7-11. That's why I always carry this spare battery, which fits nicely in the small zip pocket in front of my camera bag. Perfect for those out-of-town trips, or once-in-a-lifetime events. Now I never miss a photo op!
