Average Rating: Rating: - Excellent! Better even than Parachutes. Coldplay has produced another cd worth listening to over and over from start to finish. Rating: - First Single off of "Rush of Blood" This is a belated review of "In My Place", the first single off of "Rush of Blood to the Head", Coldplay's excellent second album. "In My Place" is a song many Coldplay fans know already from their 2001 US tours, a concert staple. In studio, the song retains its strenghts: a great melody and Chris Martin's unique vocals. It is the perfect transition/bridge between "Parachutes" and the new album. The bonus tracks are quite good as well. "One I Love" is much more representative of the "harder" sound on "Ruch of Blood", an electric-guitar driven tune which, although it didn't make it on "Ruch of Blood", Coldplay performs regularly on their current gigs. "i Boom Blaum" is a short tune, Chris solo on accoustic guitar, reminiscent of songs like "See You Soon". This single is not essential for Coldplay fans that have the new album, but for the die-hards, a welcome addition to their repertoire of great B-sides. Rating: - Buy it......... NOW! Using the simplest words, they create the most beautiful, emotionally charged songs. Actually, stop being cheap! Buy the whole album! It's sound is a little different from the first, but still essentially delicious.
