Average Rating: Rating: - Great CD I was wowed by the new cd Do it for Love by Hall and Oates. It is a great album. There are so many great songs on this album, two singles from this cd have already reached the top 10. From Someday We'll know with guest artist Todd Rundgren to the funky song Miss DJ to classic hall and oates sound of Life's too short this album has songs to enjoy all the way through. Rating: - "Do It For Love" It's amazing, this South Philly pair, continues to compose and perform music, that is as relevant today, as it was, thirty years ago. The first five tunes on this CD, are worth the price of admission. While it's obvious, Hall & T-Bone are the production architects behind this CD, it has always been Oates, who has supplied the glue, that has fueled the longevity of this musical journey. It's hard to think of another Duo, that has continually generated noteworthy music throughout their careers. While this CD doesn't capture the innocence of "Abandoned Luncheonette, or the maturity of "Big Bam Boom", it dose reaffirm this Duo's creative evolution. The inclusion of Oates "Love In A Dangerous Time", about the Aides crisis, originally written in the early nineties, is as valid today, when, you juxtapose the soundings of war in the air. While none of us are what we were in our youth, Hall & Oates still exhibit, the passion for making very good music. Rating: - Very good; a welcome return Put simply, this is not just a good comeback for Hall and Oates. It's a fine album that sits among their two or three best. Daryl Hall is still one of the finest singers of his generation, and the songwriting from both Hall and John Oates is the most consistent they've ever had. The production is good, too, as they continue in the more natural vein used since "Change of Season" (but with much better material). The CD gets 4 stars because it could have used one or two more up-tempo songs; Daryl's "Can't Stop Dreaming" would have fit nicely.
