Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - So Addictive
1.Intro-The right intro to start off the cd.
2.Dog in heat-A hot song with Redman it's even better.
3.One minute man-She took a average song and Missied it.
4.Lick shots-A crazy song that you can dance to and laugh with
5.Get ur freak on-A totally different song.Only Missy and Timbaland could come up with.
6.Scream-I like the beat it's a head banger.
7.Old school joint-It's okay but pretty boring after listening to it a couple times.
8.Take away-Definelty a ordinary ballard, but still it's good.
9.4 my people-This is a track you'd expect from Missy.Good.
10.Bus-a-bus(intro)-Funny
11.What you gon' do-I like the beat and the lyrics.
12.Step off-This is my favorite song. The lyrics Missy says aren't what I like, but the beat and Tweet's voice make it my favorite.
13.X-tasy-A good song, can be boring after a while too.
14.Slap!slap!slap-I like everything from Missy's verse, to Da brat's verse, to Ms. jade's voice, to Timbaland's voice over a hot beat.
15.I've changed(intro)Lil' mo and Missy make a great intro.
16.One minute man(remix)-They should have changed Missy's verse, beacuse after listening to the first one w/ Ludacris you'll end up skipping the track because Jay-z is at the end of the song.
THIS CD LIVES UP TO ITS NAME.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Missy gets back to basics on "addictive"
In 1997, hip hop would never be the same again. Here comes Missy Elliot in trashbag gear and freaky beats. Breathing new life into hip hop's stale industry, Missy's been doing this for years. Shes written and produced for such acts as Aaliyah and Mariah Carey long before her groundbreaking debut Supa Dupa Fly. Instead of your average scantily clad female rapper, missy is a full figured gal with a powerful prescense and a taste for the otherworldly. Fans who fell for her debut and may or may not have liked her sophomore effort Da Real World, will certainly enjoy So Addictive, as it brings back the experimental elements missy is known for. While, Da Real World was a dark, rather monotnous and boring album, addictive kicks supa dupa fly's attitude back in high gear. With more listenable, radio friendly songs, addictive explores funky hip hop sprinkled with off the wall electronic beats and out there effects. The highlights include the first single "Get Ur Freak On", "One Minute Man", "Lick Shots", "Old School Joint", and "4 my People". Five reasons to buy this one, folks. The others are good in theyre own way, but these five sound like potential singles to me. While its not a perfect album, it contains some of the most original songs youll hear in 2001.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Not bad...
Actually there are a couple of songs I must mention:

"Take Away" (track #8) is my favorite. "Take Away" is a lazy, funk/R&B ballad (light the candles) that is a duet with Ginuwine. I describe it as a return to Timbaland's 1996 work on Ginuwine's first album a la "I'll Do Anything" or Aaliyah's "Four Page Letter"...this song is so perfectly hypnotic. When I listen to "Take Away", I keep waiting for Prince to drop in or something; remember his 1984 hit, "The Beautiful Ones" from the Purple Rain album? It's kind of like that...anyhow, you get the point ....

What sold me on this album was "One Minute Man". ....This song is hot, with it's ultra-catchy rhythm arrangement. ....

Other standouts include "Lick Shots" (the beat really), "Get Ur Freak On" (of course), "Old School Joint" (beat, again), "4 My People" (frantic funk, Eve shines here), "Watcha Gonna Do" (just hear it!) and "Slap! Slap! Slap!" (rough and hilarious....).

I was expecting more when I bought this album, but I'm satisfied because of "Take Away" alone...great song. (If you liked SWV's "When This Feeling" from their 'A New Beginning' album, I think you'd like this one)

C.H.R.

P.S. Cool bonus track...spiritual.
