"The Eminem Show" lacks the powerful single "The Marshall Mathers LP" had with "The Real Slim Shady". "Without Me" is supposed to be that single but the chorus isn't catchy enough.Song ratings of this album: White America - 8/10 - Eminem shouting "White America!" is very catchy. Very good song. Business - 7/10 - The beat is great in this song, but it gets a lower score because of the loud beaths Em takes toward the end of the last verse. Cleanin' Out My Closet - 8/10 - Great song, the first single for his movie "8 Mile". Square Dance - 7/10 - Eminem with his southern accent in the chorus is catchy but can get annoying. Soldier - 6/10 - Eminem raps his fastest here but the "I'm a soldier..." chorus doesn't get me hooked in like some of his other ones. Say Goodbye To Hollywood - 5/10 - Half the song is the chorus. On the last verse he is off on the beat and ends up overlapping his rap into the chorus. Drips - 9/10 - Nice touch with Obie Trice but Trice could have been better if he stopped describing his orgasm and rapped some better rhymes. Eminem's verse is great, as is the chorus. Without Me - 8/10 - This song is the last album's "The Real Slim Shady" only not as good. Sing For The Moment - 8/10 - This is song the last album's "Stan". Nice touch with the Aerosmith chorus and the solo guitarist at the end. It's not as deep as "Stan" but has the same feeling. Superman - 8/10 - Love the chorus. Hailie's Song - 6/10 - Eminem shows why he is a better rapper than he is a singer in this song. When The Music Stops - 7/10 - Lacks a chorus but it is more fun to listen to his D-12 friends rap than Em himself. Say What You Say - 7/10 - The rapping is just way too slow to be a hit. Till I Collapse - 6/10 - Nate Dogg is great in this song, but the beat is just way too simple. It is practically Queen's "We Will Rock You" beat with the boom, boom, clap beat. My Dad's Gone Crazy - 4/10 - Hailie Jade is so annoying its not even funny. This song should have been left off the album. Em's rhymes are pretty good but its his daughter's voice that is just ear burning. Download "The Way I Am", Eminem's greatest song ever. Pick this up. Nice bass to go along with your system.

WAKE UP AND SMELL THE FRESH MORNING AIR PPL!! All of this MTV horse ... simply poisons their minds and Eminem's latest offering "The Eminem Show" falls into that category. This album is just more money for the ... at the MTV headquarters to milk out of the spoiled simple-minded suburban ...!! I'll admit that Mathers can rap, I mean he can RAP, a lot better than almost every other poseur rapper on the scene these days but Sadly, whatever respect that I could've had for him was sadly thrown out the window with such hateful, misogynist, and manipulative content that works further and further to warp and dumben down the minds of America's youth! This album is one of countless examples of what's wrong with America these days. Most ppl here don't bother to dive into artful albums and instead waste away by selling themselves to the MTV ...! I just cannot believe that ignorance has ruined modern American civilization when a hateful, racist, and bigoted man is called an artist! The excessive dissing of numerous artists is ad nauseum ridiculous. Why should I waste 18 dollars on 78 minutes of repetitive dissing of other pop stars (Not that I'm a fan of all of them)? On all fronts, Moby would knock Mathers out of the boxing ring with his album "18"!! I don't give a flying Frisbee what these fans say, this album is straight out garbage! This album has gotten 5 Grammy nominations!! WHY!!! WHY!!! WHY!!! WHY!!! Why is such insipid, hateful, and misogynist material being praised?! This is like the equivalent of winning the Nobel Peace Prize for being a wife beater or stalker or even a war criminal! This angers me to a high degree seeing absurd music being nominated for Awards! "Nellyville", and "The Eminem Show" are the prime examples of the ... of the Grammy ppl! All of these songs are simply more MTV marketing tools to shove down the throats of the demented simple-minded suburban MTV viewers. This album tries to be funny and hilarious but winds up being more like a drunken slumber party, music that's more like a bad karaoke performance at a high school prom and predictable beats. Why this CD is getting such great reviews is unbelievable! I refuse to be manipulated and induced to buying into this garbage!! Go buy some Outkast or Will Smith instead! At least they don't resort to the absurd thuggish ranting that has ruined the formerly artful rap-music genre. If you're looking for true art in music, buy Radioheads "OK Computer", Pink Floyds "Dark Side of the Moon", or Bjorks "Greatest Hits"! These are definitive works of art. "The Eminem Show" is one of the most overrated CD of all time! OUT!!!!
Rating:  - good buy, Eminem lets us know how he feels
On this disc Eminem shares his views on everything from race to how much he loves his daughter. On the whole, the entire CD is a very good buy with consistent song quality. The skit interludes are a bit annoying after the first listen, but they also procide interesting commentary on society if you take the time to listen to them. The three best tracks on this CD are "White America" "Without Me" and "Sing for the Moment". The first two have been relased as singles and are typial of Eminem. The third, "Sing for the Moment" is an unexpected gem, commenting on music's influence on people in a slightly slower beat with more guitar than most Eminem songs. Here Em really shows himself, that even the king of controversy cares about something. All the other songs on this album are worth listening to, but aren't as noteworthy as those three. On the whole, a good buy if you like any Eminem you might have heard, or if you're just curious. (And the "explicit lyrics" really aren't that bad, unless you listen really closely you won't notice it too much)
