Average Rating: Rating: - Latest PVD Release Is Basically Re-Worked Past Hits! This latest release from the German Disc Jockey/Producer/Artist is basically re-worked versions of his past hits and some popular non-hits from his various cd's. The songs are typically electronic, with melodic synthesizers, hard beats and some nice female vocals thrown in for good measure. You've got hits such as "We Are Alive", "Seven Ways", "Forbidden Fruit", "Beautiful Place","Another Way","Tell Me Why","Words","For An Angel", as well as some popular other songs such as "Together We Will Conquer", "Animacion", "Step Right On", etc. The entire cd is beat mixed flawlessly for those who like a smooth flow of songs. My gripes with this cd is that it's about 74 mins. long, why couldn't an extra song be mixed into his set to make it just under eighty minutes? I would have also preferred that the songs not be mixed non-stop such as in his "Seven Ways" cd. The DVD that is included in this collection is okay, but basically shows the people of the different countries Van Dyk has frequented such as China, Japan, England, Germany, etc. You do have some scenes of the man himself spinning at various nightclubs throughout the world, but the whole DVD is rather boring for the most part. If you enjoy trance music of the likes of Paul Oakenfold, DJ Tiesto, Ferry Corsten or Armin Van Buuren you'll probably want to pick up this collection. Rating: - A must have This CD/DVD is an absolute must for any Paul van Dyk or trance music fan. From the moment the DVD starts playing, you are going on a trip around the world. I admit, it is not what I expected (it is almost like a long music video), but it was still very enjoyable. Overall, it proves that electronic music is truly a global language. If you have not seen him live, you are missing out. Rating: - Not taking away anything but... This cd is awesome. It showcases Paul van Dyk's true talent in that he's majorly reworked many of his hit tracks and compiled them onto this cd. The mixing and beatmatching are unparalleled, and the cd is 74 minutes of continuous flowing trance. While I reccomend this album as a great for those just getting into trance or paul van dyk, be sure to check out "Out There and Back" and "The Politics of Dancing" I like those albums more. Paul Van Dyk is the best producer out there...
