Average Rating: Rating: - John Williams and his ever changing music This score, like most of John William's music, is strickingly different than the ones before. William's ability to dabble in different musical forms is decidedly one of his greatest strengths, along with his ability to follow the pace of the movie. If you happen to simply be a fan of William's, I think you'll enjoy this bit. It's very light, entertaining, and enjoyable. A very happy bit, indeed. Don't expect it to be like Star Wars, but expect to enjoy it. Rating: - Catch me if you can score catches listeners attention! This is a wonderful addition to any John William's fan collection. Bearing rhythmic and stlyistic reseamblance to A.I. and Minority Report, John Williams produces another mysterious and fascinating world, only this time incorparating the jazz and glamour of the setting of Catch me if you Can. Sure to be an excellent companion to the film, the soundtrack on its on still holds up well. Maybe not considered one of John William's finest, but none the less, this is still Williams at the top of his game...and that says alot! Rating: - Enjoyable music...even if you haven't seen the film Being the huge John Williams (and Steven Spielberg) fan that I am, I usually buy a new John Williams soundtrack (especially if it's from a Spielberg film) even if I haven't seen the movie yet. Such is the case with CATCH ME IF YOU CAN. This one is quite a change for John Williams. There's none of the typical operatic music that usually accompanies a scene that's epic in nature. Instead, everything is on a much more mellow tone. Although it may sound strange, it actually works. No, it certainly is no STAR WARS, INDIANA JONES, or SCHINDLER'S LIST. However, the themes are still both fun and relaxing. The songs from Frank Sinatra and Judy Garland fit in perfectly. And although it's slow in some parts, it's a huge step forward compared with this past summer's themeless MINORITY REPORT. Give it a try. You'll like it.
