Average Rating: Rating: - Beautiful, but only if some SOAD songs were added... When I look at soundtracks, I never expect much. "It's just two songs on the CD with some idiotic things thrown in," I always said to soundtracks. But, this is different. If you have seen the movie and liked it, understood it, heard everything, AND saw everything you will love this. This is the movie itself, with the music telling the story. I loved the rather small but informative booklet inside it(you know, the cover), and the back cover was showing emotion, anger, hatred(not in hate hate, but like hating the idea of it happening, even though it already happened), and lost hope and faith. And I also loved the poem and everything written inside of the case. I loved the idea of this, but one fact remains: The best way to express, reveal, explain, and expose emotion is through music, especially Rock. Yes, I know you think I'm saying a strange thing, but look at all the things that have been said through music: System of a Down's anger about political issues and other problems on the Earth, and Creed's way of defining how you feel, what you will feel, and what you already have felt. You may say, "What's this guy talking about, Creed's not Armenian!" I'd say, "Did you figure that out by yourself?" Ladies and Gentlemen, I am trying to make a point that music explains many things, including life itself. And this album is absolutely NO exception! The choir's singing bringing out hope, life, and anger. And the amazing music telling the story... I did, however, understand that Rock was not necessary to explain what we are trying to say. Although, System of a Down's "Spiders" would have had a good part in this, and then there would be "Aerials" and all the other SOAD songs that would be a perfect match. But that's not my point, this album totally changed my mind about soundtracks. Music won't go any deeper than this...for a movie like "Ararat", this is what you need... Rating: - Very Nice Excellent sound acoustics. I didn't know what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised after listening to it. Rating: - One of the great movie scores ever released. Quite literally one of the greatest movie scores ever composed. Great job Danna & Egoyan. Sevag
