Average Rating: Rating: - Great CD I really liked Enrique, I haven't really heard much of his Spanish stuff yet, although I have intentions of buying a couple of them to compare to what he has released now, but I think Escape takes from his first album and builds. The song Escape has a great beat and you can't help but move to it. Don't Turn out the Lights has such a sensuous, passionate undertone to it that it really adds something that I personally haven't heard in any album before. The rest of the songs on the album are all very solid as well. It's just a fun album with so many different styles that if you are a fan of pop/latin music at all, you're bound to find something on it that you like. I get tired of all the pop music that is out there, but this carries the Latin undertones, yet is fun and just an enjoyable well done album. Rating: - WOW!!! Enrique has truly grown as a songwriter & musician. Enrique's single HERO has been on everyone's minds and hearts, as a love song, but even more so, after the Sept 11 tragedy. I was patiently awaiting the release of this cd "Escape" so that I would not have to wait for the radio stations to play Hero......... I bought my copy this morning, and have heard it several times now....... I have to say that Enrique has grown so very much as an artist, a musician, a singer, and most importantly a songwriter........... Every number on this album has been written by him, and that means so much more, than most of today's artists who belt out tunes quicker then fast food!!!!................ If you love groovy guitar, you will LOVE Escape ....... Maybe is another ballad on the album, in addition to Hero, and it is truly unique..... very beautiful, sad, but yet true.... She Be The One is my absolute favorite..... The beat, the lyrics, the mood, the naughtiness, the entire song is one terrific number..... Another very different style is Dont Turn Off the Lights... And another favorite number to groove to is "I will survive" .... All in all, one terrific collection of songs, on a much awaited release from this talented & gorgeous artist.......... Every song has a different tempo, different style, and a different sound........ It is a marvellous collection of "fun" songs! At the end of the day, what makes Enrique different from other artists.... his songwriting ability, his style, tremendous growth from the Bailamos and Be With You days, his true love and affection for his fans, and his down to earth humble self...... Thanks Enrique for a beautiful album....... It was SO worth the wait.......... :o) Rating: - Enrique Rocks. 1. Escape - The song featured for naming the album, and the reason that I brought this CD. This English version and the Spanish version, number 11, both get 10 out of 10. 2. Don't Turn Off the Lights 3. Love To See You Cry - Great song, but not one of my favourites. I think if another song was released as a single from this album, there could have been a better choice. 4. Hero - I love this song. I have heard a version of it that is more upbeat and danceable too, but that is not featured on the album. 5. I Will Survive 6. Love 4 Fun - This would have made a great single, a good beat and catchy lyrics, a really good pop song but with that special Enrique twist of latin. 7. Maybe - again, another great song. There is really nothing bad to say about this album, only praise. 8. One Night Stand - Brilliant song, a favourite, a good listen 9. She Be The One - "Tick tock bang, thank you mam" Catchy and entertaining 10. If the World Crashes Down - One of my favourites. I adore this song. I can listen to every song on the album, which is unusual because normally there is a least a few songs on albums I have to skip past, but this is one I would totally skip too dispite loving all the songs! The last three tracks are spanish versions of other songs, all great, and knowing spanish myself, I prefer these songs to the English versions 11. Escape (Spanish) 12.
