Average Rating: Rating: - What More Can Be Said?? This is hands down the best country album of the year and a very strong shoo-in for album of the year. The first time I heard this album, I got chill bumps. The singing on this album is soooo soulful and the music is incredible. What I like best about this album is the Dixie Chicks took a HUGE risk with this album. Because its bluegrass, they risk losing their fans and etc. But these women didn't care. They are proud of their country roots and felt it more important to make an album from the heart, than what they think the fans want. This took courage and guts. This took stepping from the shadows of the predictable Shania and the bland Faith and forcing the Nashville industry to show some respect to their roots. We don't have many artists like this.I am talking about the artists who will take on their record company, take on Nashville, take on radio and yes, take on their fans to say-"THIS IS US. WE ARE REVEALING OUR SOULS TO YOU. RESPECT US". Folks, we might be looking at the first country female group to be inducted into the Rock and Country Hall of Fame. So take notice. My favorite songs are Truth No.2, Landslide, GodSpeed, Top of the World, and Travelin Solider. America-wake up , bluegrass and traditional country is our history, our culture, you and me. Rating: - Great CD from the Chicks I am an off-and-on country music fan. I discovered the Dixie Chicks on the 9/11 Tribute Show. Soon after, I bought Fly. Every since, I have been anxiously awaiting something new. I really enjoyed the bluegrass feel of this music, being a fan of the "Oh, Brother" soundtrack. My favorite is Long Time Gone. Landslide was very nicely done, but not too much different than the Stevie Nicks version, in my opinion. I liked all the up-tempo songs, especially Truth #2 and Tortured Tangled Hearts. I was a bit disappointed with White Trash Wedding, though. The title had so much potential for a country song! I guess I was expecting something like "Merry Christmas from the Family". I thought WTW was sort of boring. The slow songs were lovely, but among the best were Travelin' Soldier, More Love, and I Believe in Love. I probably would have given this CD 5 stars if it had more up-tempo songs. However, the whole CD is growing on me and there is nothing that I would feel compelled to skip (like I skip Goodbye Earl on Fly).
