Average Rating: Rating: - Drill good. Batteries Not So Good I've been using this drill aboard my boat for two years. It's got lots of power and it feels nicely balanced in my hand. I'm a lefty, so the drill occasionally slips into reverse because of the position of my hand. But I'm used to this right-biased design in most tools and manage to adapt. My biggest complaint: the two batteries have given up the ghost. They hold a charge for a quarter of the time they used to. This is a major annoyance. And the annoyance is amplified when I tried to replace the batteries. Two of them cost [a lot]. This is madness since I paid [nearly the same price as replacemnet batteries] for this drill two years ago. Not acceptable, Panasonic. Rating: - The best GET THIS DRILL!!! You'll want to find a way to use it everyday and will rarely need to charge the batteries unless you have a big job. Spend the extra money and get this drill because 1lb can make a real difference when drilling above your head. I love this drill! Rating: - speed and power to spare I bought this drill on Amazon a couple of years ago and it is still going strong. It is light and balanced and drives screws really fast. I use the high setting most often and at 1450 rpm it doesn't take a second to drive the self tapping screws I use. Most other cordless high speeds only get up to around 1200 rpm. The charge usually lasts the whole day and I like the buttons for shifting directions rather that some drills that have lever switches. It is surprising how powerful this drill is. It has to do with the 3 amp batteries. I've used 18v drills that don't seem to have the same power or speed as this one and there isn't a 14v that comes close and yet this is lighter than most 14v drills. Buy it, you'll like it!
