Rating: none - Nintendo: smart, or out of their mind?
When I first bought these games on poke'mon some 3 or so years ago I thought they were the best games ever made. I was even more suprised when there counterparts gold, silver, and crystal came out. Then I had figured out that you could trade back and fourth between all of them. Then when I was strolling through a store I saw an advertisement and the "Cool" pokemon the game possesd, I went nuts! I think it was a little foolish that nintendo did this for two reasons: Pokemon, aare pretty much over. And the new pokemon look somewhat "unattractive, or uncarismatic if you will". Then I thought of haveing a whole new world to explore in the game and thought it might be fun, and the "hip" thing to would be to purchase them. All over all this game will probobly be fun and challengeing in Its own way, but these new flashy games,(no Quotes)will never replace the origional pokemon games.(P.S. Why didn't nintendo release pokemon green in america?)0

Torchic, Mudkip, and Treecko. Those are the 3 starting monsters. Wynaut, Volbeat, and Yomawaru. Those are other great monsters.
This game is the greatest one yet and Groudon on the cover is very cool. Pok'emon Sapphire has different Pok'emon though. Will they come out with something like Crystal again? This new game features:2-on-2 battling for trainers and they can both play their Pok'emon at the same time. You can also see your shadow on the beach, in the water, and in a London type- setting. 100 new pok'emon! Play as a silver headband wearin' guy or a hot girl! You probably won't get bored off of this one like the last ones.

I have been playing the JPN version of this game for 30 hours now. It is definetely a quality game.Aside from the introduction to 100 new Pokemon, the greatest thing about this game is that it establishes a lot more strategy. Moves such as "attract" have now been severly overhauled into permanent status effects. Also, many of the new Pokemon pertain to 2 different classifications; combos such as Dark/Ghost and Ground/Psychic make their appearance in this game. Many of the new Pokemon also will inflict a status effect(ie. paralysis) by attacking them or knocking them out of battle. The Battle Tower has been revamped in this new addition and is sure to provide hours of challenges once the main adventure has been completed. If you plan to buy this game for cutesy Pokemon, save your money. With exceptions to Luriluri, Plus & Minus, Torchic and Mudkip, the majority of these new Pokemon are very unattractive. Many of the familiar faces, such as Tyranitar and Blissey, are not in this game. Although this will force you to adapt to the new characters, many fans might be dissapointed to learn that they can not use their favorites. Neither Sapphire or Ruby can trade with earlier versions, so please keep this in mind when you purchase this game(Ruby & Sapphire can trade between each other). 2 vs 2/4 vs 4 battles are rather different and will make the player come up with a new strategy. While you can choose which Pokemon your attack will hit in these battles, attacks that effect the enviroment(ie. E-quake) will not only hit both of your opponent's Pokemon, but also your own. You'll need to think twice about using some moves, especially if your partner Pokemon is weak to a certain element attack. As for Legendary Pokemon, the only ones you'll be able to catch in this game are Latios & Groudon(Kyogre & Latias can only be caught in Sapphire). Despite the rumors, Celebi, Mewtwo, Entei and all other previous Legendary Pokemon can not be caught in Ruby or Sapphire. Overall, this is a great game. It offers enough challenges to keep anyone into the game for hours and will draw any player into the world of Pokemon immediately.
