Average Rating: Rating: - A nice project for Parent & Child to do Together! A functional, simple birdhouse. I was looking for a project to show my five year old some simple use of hand tools - (hammer, screwdriver, etc) This and the other HD Project Kits are perfect!!! One thing that was important was that the project give my son a feeling of accomplishment and a "I Can Do It!" attitude. I feel that building things with your hands is a big part of developing a feeling of self reliance for a child. These kits provide that AND a bit of self expression letting the child paint or otherwise decorate it! Rating: - Great, well made kit... I wasn't expecting such a strong and sturdy little kit but then again, it is Home Depot. The kit is well thought out, easy to assemble and a great afternoon project for any kid that has some basic tool skills (with supervision of course). It's more of a decorative bird house that full blown out door bird house but once it's done and painted up it makes for a great yard decoration.
