Average Rating: Rating: - Two kids later.... We bought this toy for our son just after his first birthday (2 1/2 yrs. ago) and we loved it from the start. The low steps and slide made us more comfortable knowing that, if he fell, it wouldn't be far. Now that he is "too big" (HIS words!) for the Crawl and Slide, he uses the tunnel underneath as a "house" for his stuffed animals and toys! Our daughter, who is now 16 months old, shares her brother's enthusiasm - she's tiny for her age so this toy will last her quite a while yet! She adores the mailbox with the little "letter"; we even went so far as to "address" it to them with a thin permanent marker! We also love the durability - it cleans easily and the colors have hardly faded with 3 summers of sunlight! This toy is also small enough that we will be able to bring it indoors to put in their playroom for the winter. Rating: - A great toy for the active toddler! Our daughter received this last Christmas as a gift from a family member. At that time, she was a little over a year old and it has since become one of her favorite toys. When she was younger, I think that it was a good way for her to exercise, improve her coordination, and learn to climb up steps. Now that she's older, she loves to try to climb up the slide part, then walk up and down the steps. She is a very active toddler and can become easily bored with most toys but this one can hold her attention for quite a while. The toy itself is very sturdy but I'm hesitant to let her play on this at her age (almost 2 now) unsupervised. The "railings" around the top platform are very low and it's easy for a toddler to trip on them if they are not careful (and what toddler is) She's fallen off the top platform once already. Although it is not very high up, and we have it on a carpeted area, we only let her play on it when one of us is around. It is very sturdy and I don't think that it would ever tip over. It is also surprisingly strong, even though it's plastic. Because it is all plastic it's easy to carry or to clean. (just hose it off). Overall I rate this toy very highly - and so does our daughter. Rating: - Toddler loves it but unfortunately it's not safe! My 18-month old daughter has a lot of fun climbing up and down the stairs even more than using the slide, but unfortunately the design, with the raised back edge, is prone to falls. She once climbed up the stairs and immediately fell over the back edge (and I was standing right there but it happened in a second!) The same thing happened to a friend's 2-yr old with this toy (with her mother right there). The curved back edge should be much higher. I would not buy this slide again. I've seen better designed slides since I bought this one.
