Though my 14 month old is far from the potty training stage, I bought this video for the entertainment value (he loves the TV show). I'm not sure who enjoyed it more! I really like how they teach kids, in a no-pressure way, that everybody goes potty, that sometimes they may have accidents, when they should go, how they should wash up and flush, etc. I can only imagine it will be extremely useful when he does reach potty training age. Bear in the Big Blue House is absolutely the only show that my very active and demanding son will actually stop in his tracks for. I can even get some cleaning done! Thank you for a wonderful product!!! Rating: - Bear explains potty time This is the first Bear in the Blue House DVD that I've bought and my daughter(2+)and I love it. This isn't an instructional video in the sense that it tells you how to potty train. I like to think of it as a way of explaning potty time to my daughter at her level. Bear candidly and calmly explains that everyone uses the potty. He explains that accidents happen and that times you just have to wait and relax while on the potty. I also like that he reinforces hand washing and he suggests what to say when you are away from home and need to go to the potty. There are several scenes about the potty so there are different chances to get the message. I love the hip "Potty Train" song as well as the beautiful singing at the end of every segment with Luna, the moon. The crowning accolade to me for this DVD was that my daughter mentions things that Bear says while going to the potty or in the general course of the day. Also a plus on the DVD is that there are 2 other "non potty" stories so after we get past this stage we will still want to watch it. Rating: - Hallelujah! My 2 1/2 year old daughter had no interest in potty training; she'd refuse to even sit on the potty seat, but would immediately change her own diaper upon wetting or soiling (very messy when they try to do that themselves!). However, she loves reciting from videos, so I tried this Bear in the Big Blue House video. Within two weeks, she was reciting phrases from the video "Diapers get kind of droopy" "I pooped, then I wiped, then I washed my hands, oops.. I'll be right back....Flushing is very important too.", and was asking to sit on the potty. She became completely potty trained within 4 months of watching this video. Great results! And it's fun for adults too -- my daughter and I dance around the living room together for the last two songs! This video worked magic for us!
